Area Accident Reports

Elkhart County

Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:

3:41 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, CR 46 and CR 25, east of New Paris. Drivers: A. Lohman, 77, Syracuse, and Heidi Kaufman, 34, New Paris. Kaufman complained of pain to the neck and shoulder. Passengers in the Kaufman vehicle: Warren A. Kaufman, 6, was taken to the hospital for evaluation and Marisa D. Kaufman, 9, complained of shoulder pain. Lohman failed to stop at the stop sign pulling into the path of the Kaufman vehicle. Lohman was cited for disregarding a stop sign.

Kosciusko

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:

6:33 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, Packerton Road north of CR 800S, Claypool. Driver: Scott L. Zook, 48, West Third Street, North Manchester. Hit deer. Damage up to $1,000.

5:41 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, East Backwater Road, east of EMS W21 Lane. Driver: Jason T. Ervin, 40, West CR 200S, Cromwell. Ervin failed to negotiate a curve and struck a guardrail. Damage up to $5,000.

6:53 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, North SR 15 and West Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Driver: Earl E. Fields, 60, West Smith St., Warsaw. Hit deer. Damage up to $5,000.

7:53 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, North CR 250E south of East CR 550N. Driver: Brittany J. Arnett, 24, Fruitridge Drive, Warsaw. Hit deer. Damage up to $5,000.

5:06 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, East Bowser Road, east of North CR 375E, Syracuse. Driver: Jessie J. McBride, 24, North East Street, Milford. McBride fell asleep while driving causing his vehicle to go off the road, down an embankment hitting a utility pole support wire. Damage up to $10,000.

3:38 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, South SR 19 north of SR 10, Etna Green. Driver: Cory M. Thomas, 38, Chinworth Court, Warsaw. Thomas swerved his vehicle to miss a deer. The vehicle slid on the rain covered roadway, going off the road and flipping over landing on its top. Damage up to $5,000.

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

12;24 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1. East Center Street, Warsaw, Drivers: Caitlynne R. Bradley, 18, Lakeland Drive, Warsaw, and Susan L. Peterson, 67, South Lake Shore Drive West, Warsaw. Bradley was backing from a parking space and struck the Peterson vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.

4:24 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, South Buffalo Street, south of East Prairie Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kay E. Michael, 68, West Main Street, Warsaw, complained of pain to the head and William D. Wood, 39, North Washington Street, Warsaw, complained of pain to the neck. Michael complained of pain to the head but refused medical treatment. Wood complained of pain to the neck and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Michael struck the Wood vehicle head-on while turning into a business. Damage up to $10,000.

12:35 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1. South Detroit Street south of East Pope Street. Drivers: Daniel J. Bussell, 26, South Ferguson Road, Warsaw, and Rebecca A. Pfeiffer, 64, South Southwood Drive, Warsaw. Bussell’s vehicle struck the back of the Pfeiffer vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
