WARSAW — One of two individuals who forced their way into a residence has been arrested.

Kameron Jeffery Banks, 19, 735 W. Center St., Warsaw, has been arrested on charges of residential entry, a level 6 felony; and criminal mischief, a class B misdemeanor. His bond has been set at $5,250 cash and surety. He was arrested on Monday, Aug. 14, and lodged in the Kosciusko County Jail.

The affidavit of probable cause reports on July 6, police were called to a residential entry and spoke with the female victim. The female told police she was at the residence of two other individuals when Banks and Nathaniel Heitkamp came looking for another individual. When that individual was not located she forced them out the door. However, they kicked in the door and re-entered the residence.

It was at that point Heitkamp struck her in the forehead with a crowbar. The victim was taken to Parkview Hospital-Warsaw, where she was diagnosed with a concussion. The victim also provided police with a text she received with a threatening message from Banks.

Several other individuals at the residence at the time the crime took place confirmed the information from the victim.

Heitkamp told police Banks and he went to the residence looking for an individual and the victim pushed Banks and him out the door and shut the door. Heitkamp stated it was Banks who kicked the door open causing the damage, but the door hit the victim causing the injury.
