Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
9:15 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, North Fox Farm Road and West CR 300N, Warsaw. Driver: Jared L. Gudeman, 17, West CR 400N, Warsaw. Lost control of his vehicle, went off the road hitting a tree. Damage up to $5,000.
7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, East Forest Glen and CR 350E, Leesburg. Driver: William B. Purtlebaugh, 66, Berkley Way, Lehigh Acres, Fla. Purtlebaugh was northbound on CR 350E at the intersection with Forest Glen Avenue, due to the darkness and contour of his vehicle’s fender, his view was obstructed and he sideswiped the concrete retaining wall. Damage up to $5,000.
11:33 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, South CR 100W and West CR 1000S, Silver Lake. Driver: Maria Menchaca Medina, 57, Manchester Avenue, Wabash. Medina swerved to miss a large dog. Her vehicle slid off the roadway, hitting a fence owned by Daniel A. Kindig, Silver Lake, and tree. Damage up to $25,000.
11:16 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, North Boeing Road, south of East CR 250N, Warsaw. Driver: Michael R. Carroll, 32, Hepler Drive, Warsaw. Carroll was backing to turn around when he collided into a guardrail. Damage up to $5,000.
10:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, West CR 1350N and North CR 1100W, Nappanee. Drivers: Carol J. Speicher, 57, East CR 1150N, Milford, and James Fisher, 65, Montezuma Trail, Nappanee. Speicher was westbound, stopped at the intersection, but thought the northbound traffic also had a stop sign. She pulled into the intersection before realizing the other direction did not have to stop. Both drivers attempted to avoid a collission. Damage up to $2,500.
7:39 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, East Old Road 30, west of North CR 450E, Warsaw. Driver: Myrtle I. Yates, 72, East Old Road 30, Pierceton. Hit deer. Damage up to $5,000.
10:10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, North Warner Road, south of East CR 1400N, Syracuse. Driver: Daniel L. Hamby, 43, North Pecan Street, Syracuse. Hit Deer. Damage up to $5,000.
Milford
Officers with the Milford Police Department investigated the following accident:
3:44 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, East VanBuren Street, south of North Old SR 15, Leesburg. Driver: Cassie R. Himes, 30, South CR 275E, Warsaw. Himes was southbound on Old SR 15, when her vehicle slid through the intersection hitting a cement barrier owned by Nuell Inc. Damage up to $2,500.

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
6:11 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, North Detroit Street, east of Jalynn St., Warsaw. Drivers: John P. Bird, 20, East CR 510N, Warsaw; Mauricio Hernandez, 36, West CR 250S, Warsaw; and Marla D. Pelszynski, 54, North CR 700W, Burkhart. Bird was arrested for failure to stop after an accident and possession of marijuana. Bird stated he was driving at a fast speed through the parking lot of Lowes and did not stop, sideswiping vehicles operated by Hernandez and Pelszynski. Damage up to $5,000.
3:49 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, West Market Street, Warsaw. Driver: Jeannine M. Boyer, 71, North Lake Street, Warsaw. Boyer’s vehicle struck the concrete base and sign in the parking lot of Owens. Damage up to $10,000.
3:10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, West Winona Avenue and South Logan Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jack McDaniel, 72, Sally Street, Warsaw, and Jonathon W. Kerkhoff, 61, South Bruner Road, Warsaw. McDaniel, driving a Warsaw Community Schools bus, made a wide swing turning onto Winona Avenue, hitting a westbound vehicle driven by Kerkhoff. Damage up to $5,000.
2:12 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, East Center Street and Eastlake Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Jerry L. Buzaitis, 63, South Street, Soult St. Marie, Mich., and Linda S. Long, West CR 800S, Claypool. Buzaitis’ vehicle sideswiped the Long vehicle while changing lanes of travel. Damage up to $2,500.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accidents:
9:04 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, Kings Highway east of Argonne Road, Winona Lake. Driver: Chandler N. Elliott, 19, Centennial Road, Martinsville. Elliott attempted to stop for traffic in front of her, lost control on the icy road and hit a utility pole. Damage up to $2,500.
6:52 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, Ninth Street, Winona Lake. Samantha K. Paul, CR 15, Goshen, reported damage to the front bumper of her vehicle. She did not know where the damage occurred or what vehicle caused the damage. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the accident. Damage up to $2,500.
12:46 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, Argonne Road and Kings Highway, Winona Lake: Drivers: Michael E. Schmidt, 45, West Lilac Lane, Cromwell; Joshua R. Rone, 20, Loescher Road, Lima, Ohio; and Marc W. Andrews, 46, East Pierceton Road, Warsaw. Schmidt was westbound on Kings Highway and was turning right when his vehicle slid and he lost control hitting the Rone and Andrews vehicles, both stopped on Argonne Road. Damage up to $10,000.
