The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana issued a special weather statement at 5:08 a.m. this morning for a large number of counties including Kosciusko.
A period of light freezing rain is likely late tonight into early Saturday morning. The light freezing rain is expected to move into far northwest Indiana after midnight and then spread across northeast Indiana, southwest lower Michigan and northwest Ohio through early Saturday morning.
There is a potential of some light ice accumulations with the freezing rain.
The National Weather Service states some uncertainty still remains in regards to the timing and amount of freezing rain, but anyone traveling across the region late tonight into the early morning hours of Saturday, should stay alert to the latest forecast and be prepared for the potential of some light ice accumulations on roadways and walkways.
Warmer air moving into the region should change any freezing rain to rain by mid morning Saturday.
