Michael Anthony Lewis, 23, 5153 W. Corlys Lane, Silver Lake and Andrew Keith Alexander II, 22, 5769 W. Quail Road, Mentone, are being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on a prosecutor’s hold following an assault on two individuals at 3:15 p.m. Monday.
Lewis has been arrested for carrying a handgun without a license by a convicted felon within 15 years, battery with a deadly weapon, possession of paraphernalia and resisting law enforcement with a vehicle.
Alexander is being held on initial charges of domestic battery in the presence of a child and domestic battery.
Police were notified by Michael Lewis Hernandez of two individuals breaking into his residence in the 1900 block of Miami Drive, Warsaw. The two males entered the home and began pistol whipping and battering Hernandez and a 16-year-old female. Both victims declined medical attention.
The victims were able to identify the two males.
At 7:20 p.m. Warsaw Police Officer Mike Foster identified, who he believed was Lewis in a vehicle near the Marathon Station on US 30 and Commerce Drive. A short pursuit through the parking lot before Lewis was apprehended.
During the investigation police learned the identity of the second suspect, Alexander, and his potential location. Police went to a residence at 4731 E. CR 100S, Pierceton, where Alexander was arrested.
A search warrant was issued for that residence to secure the firearm used in the assault. Lewis was allegedly the suspect welding the firearm during the attack.
