Kosciusko

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:

9:31 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, East CR 900S, west of South CR 400E, Sydney. Driver: Collene A. Haines, 47, West Dixie Drive, Silver Lake. Haines complained of pain to her entire body but was not transported to a hospital. Haines’ vehicle went off the road and struck a power pole. Damage up to $10,000.

1:39 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, East Old Road 30, west of South SR 13, Pierceton. Drivers: Vincent M. Mandarino, 36, Kenton Avenue, Midlothian, Ill., and Alexander Szajkovics, 80, East South Barbee Drive, Pierceton. Mandarino drove his vehicle onto the roadway in front of the Szajkovics vehicle. Damage up to $50,000.

6 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, West SR 14, Warsaw. Drivers: Gary D. McGillem, 61, West Hilltop Lane, Silver Lake, and Dylan M. Bellamy, 20, South Pleasant Street, Silver Lake. McGillem was backing his vehicle into a driveway and backed into the Bellamy vehicle parked in the drive. Damage up to $10,000.

10:58 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, West US 30, east of North CR 800W, Etna Green. Driver: Michael F. Stout, 53, North CR 300E, Warsaw. Stout’s vehicle struck a tire on the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.

1:22 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, South Beaver Dam Road, north of West CR 800S, Claypool. Driver: Mark C. Sill, 53, West CR 1000S, Akron. Injured: Sill suffered an abrasion to the head. Jehonadab Sill, 16, West CR 1000S, Akron, suffered an abrasion to the head but refused treatment. Sill’s vehicle was pulling a trailer that caused his vehicle to jacknife in the roadway and caused him to lose control. The vehicle partially went off the roadway, overturning along with the trailer. Damage up to $25,000.

4:41 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, West CR 700S, west of South CR 875W, Mentone. Driver: Skianne M. Kinsey, 24, Center Street, Tippecanoe. Kinsey fell asleep while driving, causing her vehicle to go off the road and hit a utility pole. Damage up to $50,000.

10:04 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, East SR 14, east of South Packerton Road, North Manchester. Drivers: Nicholas D. Whiteford, 28, Drake Lane, Beecher, Ill., and Michelle L. Shepherd, 50, North CR 400W, North Manchester. Whiteford thought the intersection was a four-way stop and failed to yield to the Shepherd vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.

5:40 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, South SR 25, north of West CR 200S, Warsaw. Drivers: Gary Barton, 63, West SR 25, Mentone, and Brittany R. Walker, 20, East 18th St., Rochester. Barton’s vehicle struck the back of the Walker vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

6:40 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, North Detroit and East Center streets, Warsaw. Drivers: Kristina Hershberger, 29, Roc Lane, Goshen, and Justin A. Miller, 36, East John Street, Nappanee. Hershberger attempted to beat the yellow light when she saw Miller’s vehicle turning east into the intersection. Hershberger’s vehicle slid on the wet pavement when she attempted to stop, hitting the Miller vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.

6:03 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, East Main and North Bronson streets, Warsaw. Drivers: Marlise A. Shaffer, 41, East Clark Street, Warsaw, and Richard B. Miller, 52, Pope Street, Winona Lake. Shaffer suffered an abrasion to the shoulder/upper arm. Shaffer failed to see the Miller vehicle when turning her vehicle from Bronson Street onto East Main Street. Damage up to $5,000.

4:54 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, East Old Road 30 and Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Philip R. Rittner, 61, West Shoreline Drive, Columbia City, and Heather M. Truex, 46, East Market Street, Warsaw. Rittner’s vehicle struck the back of the Truex vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.

12:09 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, Dubois Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Trina M. VanDusen, 33, Millers Drive No. 16, Mentone. VanDusen was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for medical issues not related to the accident. VanDusen’s vehicle struck a parked vehicle registered to Robert R. Holloway, West SR 25, Mentone. Damage up to $10,000.

3:49 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, West CR 250N, east of North SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Dolores A. Klawitter, 81, North Creek Bend, Milford, and Lea G. Jernstrom, 35, Gibson Street, Plymouth. Klawitter turned her vehicle around in a driveway and failed to see the Jernstrom vehicle upon entering the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.

11:09 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, US 30, east of North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Charles A. Reuse, 76, North CR 175E, Warsaw, and Charles A. Naumowich, 64, Rebecca Street, Valparaiso. Reuse’s vehicle struck the back of the Naumowich vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.

7:49 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, East Center Street, south of North Harrison Street, Warsaw. Drivers: William H. Hartman, 63, East US 30, Pierceton, and Becky K. Keefer, 53, Pikeview Drive, Warsaw. Hartman’s vehicle collided with the Keefer vehicle at the intersection. Damage up to $2,500.

8:39 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, East Center Street, west of Eastlake Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Brandon J. George, 18, West CR 250S Lot 137, Warsaw,and Ashley B. Cooper, 37, Wedrick Drive, Warsaw. George complained of soreness in the knees and refused medical treatment. Cooper complained of pain to the knee and overall body pain. She was taken to Parkview Hospital. George failed to stop for a red light and struck the Cooper vehicle, which was turning onto East Center Street. Damage up to $25,000.

10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, Provident Drive, Warsaw. Sunshine Metz, South Clay Street, Claypool, reported between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. someone hit her parked vehicle. Damage under $750.
