WARSAW — Alisha L. Bruce, 36, 1008 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw, was arrested Thursday afternoon, Aug. 31, on charges of domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony. She is also facing a second charge, domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
She is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on $6,000 surety bond.
Court documents, filed Wednesday, Aug. 30, report police responded to a battery report Aug. 26. Officers arrived and found Bruce standing on the porch of the residence screaming. Police spoke with the male victim who had two bite marks on his forearm. He stated he was in the residence with his son, when she began saying bad things about him. The child and Bruce began to argue about what she had said, at which time Bruce told the juvenile to leave the residence, grabbing the child’s shirt and shoving him into the living room toward the front door.
The victim told Bruce the juvenile was not leaving and grabbed her shirt, pulling her and the juvenile back into the home, with both falling. When he went to pick up the juvenile, she began kicking and swinging at him. He grabbed her arms and she bit his forearm. He then called police, however, she continued to swing at him and when he grabbed her arms again to prevent her from hitting him, she bit him a second time.
Bruce, however, stated she was walking to the door with the juvenile to leave the residence when the victim grabbed her and the juvenile, causing her to fall. When she got up, she began swinging at him and after he pushed her back she bit his arm. Another juvenile was also present during the fight.
