PLYMOUTH — Plymouth Police have arrested Jamie L. Elsea, 24, Charles Street, Plymouth, on an initial charge of neglect of a dependent. No bond has been set.
Plymouth Police Detective Sgt. Leo Mangus reports at 11:26 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, the Plymouth Police Department received a report of an 18-month-old infant who was injured and unresponsive at a residence in the 1300 block of Holloway Drive, Plymouth.
The infant was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center and then flown to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Emergency surgery was performed due to brain injuries.
The person caring for the child was identified as Elsea. He was questioned and released pending further investigation. Following an investigation at the hospital in Fort Wayne, police learned a criminal offense had taken place. Elsea was located this afternoon and booked into the Marshall County Jail.
