NEW PARIS — Ian Mansell, 16, New Paris, complained of chest pain and suffered abrasions to the forehead, shoulder, elbow and abdomen after being struck by a hit-and-run driver. The accident occurred at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at CR 46 and Clinton Street in New Paris.
Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department reports the unknown driver of a Ford Ranger was eastbound on CR 46 at Clinton Street, and struck Mansell who was walking southbound across CR 46. The driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene, contact the victim or the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.
The crash is under investigation by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.
