The sentence was handed down by Kosciusko Circuit Court Judge Michael W. Reed, on Monday, the same day a plea agreement was submitted. Alvarado’s sentence will run consecutive with four Class C misdemeanor charges out of Elkhart County.

Alvarado was given a total of 206 days credit for time already served.

The sentence followed a plea agreement presented to Reed on Monday.

The plea agreement notes Alvarado was initially charged with dealing in a narcotic drug, conspiracy to deal in a narcotic drug, dealing in methamphetamine, conspiracy to deal in methamphetamine, dealing in methamphetamine, conspiracy to deal in methamphetamine and dealing in a narcotic drug, all of which are Class A felonies. He was also charged in dealing in methamphetamine, a Class B felony and possession of a narcotic drug, a Class C felony.

Through the plea agreement, Alvarado would plead guilty to one count of dealing in a narcotic drug and one count of dealing in methamphetamine, both Class A felonies, with all remaining counts being dismissed.
