Alice latta.1Alice M. Latta, 102, of Warsaw, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.

She was born July 23, 1913, in South Whitley to Carl and Lettie (Bayman) Thomson.

She was united in marriage to James B. Latta on April 29, 1939, who preceded her in 1993.

She was a graduate of South Whitley High School and then attained a two-year business degree in 1933 from Manchester College. Alice was a homemaker and attended the United Methodist Church of Warsaw and Osteen Methodist Church of Osteen, Fla. In addition, she was a past member of the Warsaw Elks Club, Rozella Ford Golf Course, American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 49, Warsaw and the Warsaw Arts and Crafts Club.

Survivors include sons: Richard Latta of Warsaw and Robert Latta of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter: Connie Newcomb of Bremen. Furthermore, she is survived by grandchildren: Trent Newcomb of Plymouth; Erin Bailey of Abilene, Texas and Gail Rubendall of South Bend; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was preceded by sisters: Irene Stump and Hannah Marrs.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, with Pastor Scott Carmer officiating at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
