Several tips to police lead to the arrest of two people from Leesburg Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 5.
Chase Allen Elder, 31, and Darci Lacher Munson, 23, both of 4447 N. Third Place, Leesburg, were arrested and each charged with dealing in meth, with enhancing circumstances, a level 3 felony; possession of meth, with enhancing circumstances, a level 5 felony; and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, a level 4 felony.
Documents were filed in Kosciusko Circuit Court Thursday. Court documents state Warsaw Narcotics received two tips Elder was dealing large amounts of crystal methamphetamine and had weapons. Learning Elder was on probation, officers with the Indiana State Police, Warsaw Police and probation went to Elder’s residence.
Police received permission to search the residence. They found several items of drug paraphernalia, over five grams of a substance that tested positive as meth, a lock box containing more drug paraphernalia and $1,790 in cash. The search also located a 9 mm Hi-Point Carbine and a Sentry safe. Elder allegedly told police he did not know the safe was there or the location of the key. Because no key could be located, officers took possession of the safe.

Police spoke with Munson who admitted to dealing approximately one ounce of meth every two weeks. She stated they would purchase an ounce for $1,400 and sell it for $120 a gram.
Obtaining Elder’s cellular phone and consent to search the phone, police found messages where Elder was selling and/or buying illegal drugs. Elder allegedly admitted to police the use of illegal drugs and knew the High Point Carbine was there and he has held it.
A search warrant was received on Jan. 7 to open the Sentry safe. Inside officers found plastic bags with residue that tested positive for methamphetamine and a gun manual.
Charges were enhanced after police learned Munson had been convicted Dec. 13, 2012, for dealing methamphetamine, a class B felony and Elder had been convicted Nov. 29, 2012, for dealing methamphetamine, a class B felony.
Each was held in the Kosciusko County Jail on $10,000 surety and $350 cash bonds.
