Lillian ArlicLillian M. Arlic, 89, of Syracuse, passed away at 2:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at her home.

She was born on Sept. 28, 1926 in Watertown, N.Y. to Matthew and Florence Cassell.

She graduated from High School in New York and was married on July 26, 1958, in Watertown, N.Y. to Hartmuth A. “Hodd” Arlic who survives.

She was a homemaker and a bus driver at Kaleva Norman Dickson Schools for 23 years. She moved to Syracuse in October 2105 from Wellston, Mich., where she had lived for 55 years.

She was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Irons, Mich., where she served on the Alter Society and attended the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ligonier.

Additional survivors include: a son: Allen Frederick Stark of Bronson, Mich; three stepdaughters: Ame (Bernie) Hale of Burr Oak, Mich.; Andrea (David) Hile of Syracuse, and Angela (Wayne) Trusty of Syracuse; one grandson, 11 stepgrandchildren; 19 stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter in law: Sharon Stark; stepgrandson: Braden Hale; sister: Betty Otis; and two brothers: Harold and John Cassell.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 300 Ravine Park Dr, Ligonie. Funeral mass will follow at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with Father Wilson Corzo of the church officiating. Burial will take place at the Wellston Cemetery in Wellston, Mich., at a later date.

Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.

Preferred memorials may be given to I.U. Goshen Care at Home Hospice, P.O. Box 723, Goshen, IN 46527. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
