Jasmine Leigh Currie
WARSAW — A North Webster woman who was picked up by police on one warrant, was booked on three new charges early today, Nov. 23.
Jasmine Leigh Currie, 33, 7329 E. 500N, North Webster, was arrested by Warsaw Police and booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 12:01 a.m. today, on a warrant for possession of a precursor by a methamphetamine offender, a level 6 felony, and three additional charges of possession of a precursor with a prior, possession of a syringe for legend drug and possession of meth.
An affidavit of probable cause was filed with Kosciusko Circuit Court on Nov. 17, charging Currie with the possession of a precursor by a methamphetamine offender. That document, filed by Indiana State Police Officer Luke Waikel, statd on Aug. 28, he was conducting an investigation in regards to Currie being involved in manufacturing methamphetamine.
The officer, through NPLEX, was inspecting Currie’s pseudoephedrine purchase and noticed a higher than normal amount of purchases and blocks (prohibiting the purchase of any pseudoephedrine). The officer found at 10:58 p.m. Aug. 26, she purchased one box of pseudoephedrine 12 hour 12 count, 2.4 grams at Walgreens in Warsaw.
The officer notes Currie was convicted on April 27, for attempting to commit unlawful sale of precursors, and since that conviction she has purchased six boxes of pseudoephedrine and has been blocked from one purchase. She was identified through the surveillance video making the purchase.
Currie was driving a 2005 Chevrolet at the time of her arrest, which occurred on East Center Street, Warsaw. THe vehicle was impounded. Details what lead to the additional charges of possession of precursors with prior, possession of a syringe for legend drug and possession of meth, are not yet available.
She is being held on a total of $10,000 surety and $500 cash bonds
