Mentone
Officers with the Mentone Police Department investigated the following accident:
7:21 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, West Main Street, west of North Franklin Street, Mentone. Driver: Jon D. Schaeffer, 53, South CR 900W, Mentone. Schaeffer refused medical treatment. Schaeffer stated he was traveling westbound on Main street when the passenger front tire came off the grain truck. The truck continued for a short distance and jerked to the right and flipped onto its side on the railroad tracks. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
6:56 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, North Parker Street and Oriole Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Jasmine R. Beverly, 22, Ginghamsburd Road, Tipp City, Ohio. Hit deer. Damage up to $5,000.
6:56 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, North Parker Street and East Clark Street, Warsaw. Drivers: John B. Hollinger, 60, EMS C27 Lane, Warsaw, and Jasmine R. Beverly, 22, Ginghamsburd Road, Tipp City, Ohio. Hollinger saw a deer lying in the middle of the southbound lane of Parker Street, and proceeded to go around the deer in the northbound lane. His vehicle struck the Beverly vehicle as it was being turned into a parking lot, after that vehicle struck the deer. Damage up to $10,000.
4:09 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, Lake City Highway and East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: R. W. Snider, 86, Grace Village Drive, Winona Lake, and Gene A. Eckerley, 71, Esther Avenue, Mishawaka. Snider’s vehicle struck the back of the Eckerley vehicle. Eckerley was treated at the scene for low blood sugar and released. Damage up to $25,000.
