Two women were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital and a passenger in one of the vehicles taken to Parkview Hospital, Whitley County, following a two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 28. The accident occurred at 1:26 p.m. on Lake City Highway, west of Commerce Drive, Warsaw.

Taken to KCH were Justine L. Davis, 23, West CR 125N, Etna Green, who complained of pain to her entire body, and Nancy P. Fanning, 57, East Eli Lilly Road, Syracuse, who complained of pain to her head. Suzanne M. Bryant, 58, South Dixie Drive, North Webster, was taken to Parkview Hospital Whitley County, after complaining of pain to the hip/upper leg. Bryant was a passenger in the Fanning vehicle.

Warsaw Police report Davis was westbound on Lake City Highway in a 2000 Buick, approaching Commerce Drive. She told police “I think I was supposed to stop,” and entered the intersection colliding with driver’s side of Fanning’s 2005 Jeep. Davis also told police her windshield wipers were not operable prior to the crash.

Fanning reported she had the green light and was yielding for traffic until she could turn east onto Lake City Highway from Commerce Drive, when her vehicle was struck in the driver’s side. A witness, Mike Mammolenti, who was also stopped on Commerce Drive waiting to turn west, stated he had the green light and saw Fanning’s vehicle waiting to turn left when it was hit.

Damage was estimated up to $10,000.

Warsaw Police Department was assisted at the scene by Warsaw/Wayne Township Fire Department and Lutheran EMS Kosciusko.
