Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
4:52 a.m. Sunday, West CR 600N, Leesburg. Driver: David M. Gregory, 38, EMS D22 Lane, Syracuse. Gregory, with passenger, Shyloh J. Hoy, 34, East Prairie Street, Leesburg, was driving a 2014 Polaris Ranger ATV off-road through tall grass on the upper levels of a gravel pit, when it crested the edge of a 30-40-foot embankment leading to a pond. The ATV rolled down the embankment several times before coming to rest against a tree, 12-feet from the waters edge. Gregory and Hoy were thrown from the ATV. Gregory suffered lacerations to the top of his head. Hoy suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung. Both were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Hoy was transferred to Lutheran Hospital. Alcohol tests are pending. Damage up to $25,000.
11:56 p.m. Saturday, July 4, East CR 500N and EMS T7 Lane, North Webster. Driver: Nathan Andrew Burton, 25, Country Club Road, Warsaw. Hit deer. Damage up to $2,500.
4:11 p.m. Saturday, July 4, South CR 700W, north of West CR 500S, Burket. Driver: Ernest L. Stutzman, 18, Filbert Road, Plymouth. Stutzman’s vehicle was pulling a trailer with a skid loader and two hay wagons, when his vehicle hit a bump on the edge of the road, causing his vehicle to pull to the right and hit a utility pole. Damage up to $10,000.
11:46 a.m. Saturday, July 4, East US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Terry W. Guffey, 68, East SR 28, Tipton, and Hester F. Dingus, 71, West CR 150S, Pierceton. Guffey was backing from a parking space and failed to see Dingus driving into the parking lot. Damage up to $5,000.
5:05 a.m. Friday, July 3, South Country Club Road, south of East Pink Magnolia Drive, Warsaw. River: Kurt D. Carver, 56, East CR 600S, Warsaw. Carver was pulling a broke trailer when something broke, sending the trailer off the roadway and into a pole. Damage up to $10,000.
North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
9:53 a.m. Monday, July 6, East George Street, North Webster. Driver: Janet S. Biltz, 79, East McKenna Road, Warsaw. Biltz was pulling into The Carriage Shop and didn’t realize she was close to the building, hitting it. Damage up to $2,500.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
10:50 a.m. Saturday, July 4, North Huntington Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Paige A. Price-Keim, 42, North Front Street, Syracuse, and Kelsey G. Beyeler, 17, North Eastshore Drive, Syracuse. Both drivers were backing from parking spaces opposite each other and collided. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
3:36 p.m. Monday, July 6, North Detroit Street and East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Driver: Dane A. Thompson, 53, South Country Club Road, Warsaw. Tompson’s vehicle struck Julie A. Hanson, 48, Tippecanoe Drive, Warsaw, as she was crossing Detroit Street. Hanson suffered a fracture/dislocation to the lower leg area. She was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Damage under $750.
2:28 p.m. Monday, July 6, West Market Street and South Columbia Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Ellen H. Rhodes, 64, East Main Street, Warsaw, and Renee E. Caudill, 57, South Julia Street, Claypool. Rhodes drove her vehicle into the path of the Caudill vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
1:51 p.m. Monday, July 6, South Park Avenue, Warsaw. Driver: Tabitha M. Cartwright, 23, E. Sumac Lane, North Webster. Cartwright was pulling into a parking space when the power steering failed, hitting a parked vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
12:07 p.m. Monday, July 6, Walton Boulevard. Drivers: David L. Reynolds, 63, Bluewater Drive, Warsaw, and Jared P. Woodcox, 25, North Main Street, Nappanee. Reynolds was backing from a parking spot and hit the Woodcox vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
