Richard Paul Bush, 81, went home to be with his Heavenly Father at 5:10 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2015 at in his home on the sorta rough farm near Culver while in the loving care of his family, following an extended illness.
He was born in Culver, on Nov. 7, 1933, to Kenneth C. and Sylvia (Triplet) Bush. He graduated from Culver High School with the Class of ’52.
Richard had a wonderful sense of humor and was a strong, kind, generous and wise man. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps July 6, 1952, during the Korean Conflict and was discharged June 11, 1960 as a Sgt E-4.
He married Vivian Ann Smith on Dec. 12, 1952 at Walnut Church of the Brethren near Argos.
They recently celebrated 62 years of loving married bliss.
He is survived by his wife Vivian; five children: Paula Ann Trethewey, Dennis Dale (Kelli) Bush, Elaine Frances (Tim) Kelly, Vanessa Renee (Tim) Gast, and Damon Paul (Debbie) Bush; grandchildren: Ian Paul (Kristin) Tribbey, Nicole Marie (Marco) Rodriquez, Jessica Ann (Bobby) Hite, Charlotte Renae (Chris) Bush, Jennifer Elaine (Dan) Bush, Elizabeth (Mark) Shidaker Pike, Dylan Wade Bush, Sirena Danielle (Chad) Bebee, Elyse Frances (Thomas) Stacy, Jillian Grace Kelly, Devin Richard Gast, Chandler Loree`
Gast, Dalton Earl Reinhold, Eric Deane Sarber, Konnor Lee Boomhower-Smith, Mickaela Lynn Bush, Anna Marie Bush; and great-grandchildren: Rylan Malik Martin, Gabriel Devoe Tribbey, Makenna Abree Tribbey, Kian Brek Tribbey, Sylvia Nicole Rodriquez, Sophia Isabell Rodriquez, David Dale Hite, Westin Anthony Bush, Brandt Richard Bush, Bradie Rhian Bush, Brayen Rodick Bush, Hailey Nicole Bottorff, Hadyn Rae Hartle, Ella Grace Bottorff, Carter Nicholas Bottorff, Aurora McKaylyn Hite, and Gabriel Justice
Gast; and brother Charles Alton Bush.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Sylvia Bush; brother Kenneth Forrest Bush; and granddaughters Anjelica Corrine Bush and Corrine Faith Kelly.
A time of visitation will be held at the Odom Funeral Home, 104 E. Lake Shore Drive, Culver, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 7. Rev. Paul Nye will officiate funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Union Church of the Brethren or the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
