Ruby GlassburnRuby Proffitt Glassburn, 82, of Wabash, died at 3:58 a.m., Friday, June 26, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

She was born Dec. 16, 1932, in Weeksbury, Ky., to Sanford and Kisier (Parker) Cantrell.

Ruby married Frank Proffitt on July 3, 1954, he died Sept. 25, 1982.

She was a homemaker and was a member of the Kokomo Trinity Wesleyan Church, and attended LaFontaine United Methodist Church. She loved her Lord, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and was a competitive Euchre player.

She is survived by four daughters: Mychelle (John) Roberson of Galveston, LaVona (David) Mechling of LaFontaine, Diana (Dennis) Siders of Wabash, Bobbie (Aaron) Platt of Roanoke; six grandchildren: Jennifer Mehring and Heather (Austin) Meissnest, both of Galveston, Kristina (Tim Menefee) Mehring of Angola, Emily (Nathaniel) Martin of Walton, Steven (Amy) Siders of Lagro, and Krissa Mechling of LaFontaine, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ernest Cantrell and Earl “Buddy” Cantrell, and her sister Nellie “Sissy” Ward.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 30, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, with Rev. Randy Myers officiating. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, Wabash.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
