Wes E. Hummel, 59, of Bremen, passed away at 5 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2015, at his home.
He was born on June 21, 1955, in South Bend, to the late Clyde and Margaret (Berry) Hummel.
He was united in marriage on Dec. 3, 2010 in Bremen, to the former Marjorie L. Ungos.
Wes was a lifelong resident. He worked as an repairman for AM General, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post, Lakeville, an avid hunter and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Wes is survived by his wife, Marjorie Hummel; his children: Nicholas Hummel of Bremen, Amy Hummel of Kewanna, and Matthew Hummel of Bourbon; six grandchildren: Alivia, Abygail, Anastasia Jackson and Midnight, Josie and Glory Hummel; sisters: Carol Dove of Plymouth, Gwen (Jim) McGrath of Slidall, La., and Dian (Alton) Hershberger of Union, Mich.; brother: Rex (Theresa) Hummel of LaPaz; sisters-in-law, Joyce Roberts of Plymouth and Ellen Hummel of Walkerton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Joan Roberts, Sandra Hummel, Bonnie Porter and Becky Leininger and brothers, Jerry Hummel and Carl Hummel and brother-in-law, Morris Roberts.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan St. Lakeville. Graveside services and burial will follow at Fair Cemetery, North Liberty.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
