Slate Set For May Primary

Candidate filing for the May primary is closed and the slates are set for both parties to see who will make the November election ballot.

Races are slated from the federal level to the state and county levels on the Republican and Democrat ballots in May.

At the federal level races will be for U.S. Representative District 3 on both the party ballots with the Democrats also having a race for U.S. Representative District 2. At the state level there will be a race for the nomination for State Representative District 22 and on the county level races will be on the Republican ballot for the offices of judge, Kosciusko Superior Court 1 and 2 as well county commissioner southern district.

Republican Ballot

Mark William Baringer, James (Jim) E. Mahoney III and Marlin A. Stutzman for the U.S. Representative District 3 nomination.

Rebecca Kubacki and Curt Nisly will be vying for the nomination for State Representative District 22.

David C. Cates, Stephen P. Harris and Chad Miner have all filed their candidacies for Superior Court 1 judge.

There will be a race between Torrey J. Bauer, Mark E. Caruso and Tyler S. Haines for the ballot position for Superior Court 2 judge.

The southern district county commissioner seat race will be between incumbent Robert M. (Bob) Conley and Jonathan (Jon) Fussle.

Residents in Seward Township will choose between Aime Hoffman and Robert Edling for the trustee nomination.

There will also be a race for the nomination for township advisory boards in a number of townships. Races will be in townships of:

Jefferson — Robert Riley, Dee Ann Beer, Jane Hunsberger and Arlen Mullet

Plain — Robert W. Bishop, Tyler Huffer, Craig A. Charlton and Dan Gast

Tippecanoe — Jonathan Jon T. Tyler, Steve P. Carson, James M. (Jim) Rhodes and Richard Owen

Additional candidates to be found on the Republican ballot include:

U.S. Representative District 2 — Jackie Walorski

State Representative District 18 — Dave Wolkins

Judge Kosciusko Superior Court 3 — Joe V. Sutton

Prosecuting Attorney, 54th Judicial District — Daniel H. Hampton

County Recorder — Joetta Mitchell

County Sheriff — C. Aaron Rovenstine

County Assessor — Susan D. Engelberth

County Council District 1 — Doug Heinisch

County Council District 2 — James R. Moyer

County Council District 3 — Bradley J. Tandy

County Council District 4 — Jon L. Garber

Syracuse Town Council District 1 — Larry Siegel

Syracuse Town Council District 2 — Paul A. Stoelting
