The Eldora Neher Charitable Endowment Fund, through the Kosciusko Community Foundation; the Dr. Dane and Mary Louise Miller Foundation and DePuy Synthes employees charitable giving campaign, partnered with the American Heart Association to provide a CPR in Schools training kit to Warsaw Community High School.

During the 2014 legislative session, the General Assembly passed a law establishing new requirements for CPR and AED instruction at the high school level. Students are not required to be certified in CPR and the use of an AED, but trained to incorporate the psychomotor skills (compression) necessary to perform CPR.

The CPR in Schools Training Kit gives the students the core skills to learn CPR in under 30 minutes. The kit contains everything needed to learn CPR, AED skills and choking relief in the classroom setting. The easy-to-use kit is designed specifically for the needs of the school educators and it’s portable, allowing for convenient movement from classroom to classroom, and easy storage.

The kit includes 10 Mini Anne Plus inflatable manikins, 10 kneel mats in carry bags, 10 practice-while-watching training DVDs, hand pump for manikin inflation, two mesh collection and storage bags, classroom carry bag, 50 replacement airways, 50 manikin wipes, 10 replacement face masks and a facilitator guide.

The CPR in Schools Training Kit was developed for educators, school nurses or student leaders to train groups of 10 students at once. The kit can also be used to train faculty, staff, parents, volunteers and community members to extend the lifesaving skills into the community.
