Milford Fire Department is responding to a house fire near the Lakeland Rehabilitation Center, Milford.
The fire was reported at approximately 1:15 p.m. at 503 W. Fourth St., Milford. The initial report was called in by a neighbor or passing motorist. Milford Police Detective Travis Marsh was the first on scene and found extensive smoke coming from the home.
According to Milford Fire Chief Todd Haines the fire is believed to have started in the kitchen. Heavy smoke was found throughout the home.
The fire was under control at approximately 1:35 p.m. Manpower was requested from Leesburg/Plain Township Fire Department to assist in finding any hot spots remaining in the home. Firefighters will investigate the cause.
According to Marsh the home is owned by Arnol Ortiz. Everyone did escape the home and are accounted for.
