Kosciusko Community Hospital hosted the Kosciusko Leadership Academy class session on health care in Kosciusko County.
KCH President Steve Miller, provided an overview of the health care provided by Kosciusko Community Hospital. KCH has expanded by locating several offices throughout the county in order to bring medical care to the people where they live.
New equipment purchases, including an MRI unit, allow the hospital to better serve their patients. Kosciusko Community Hospital also partners with outside organizations including OrthoWorx.
Kurt Carlson, chief executive officer, Bowen Center discussed the drastic changes in mental health care over the centuries. The Bowen Center continues to provide mental health services in many Indiana counties. The Bowen Center hosted one of the KLA sessions at their new headquarters, built in Warsaw.
Scott Siggerfoos, director of pperations, Multi-Township EMS, explained the growing role the EMS provides for the area. Multi-Township is involved in training, first aid classes, community education and high school basic EMT classes. Their motto “Ready, Willing and Able” speaks to the level of devotion and service the EMT professionals provide. One program, One Heart, teaches basic CPR to anyone in the county that is interested in learning how to possibly save a life, should the need occur.
